About DomainDiction
An independent project for web marketers: practical tools built on our own data, and a blog that explains how domains, links and search work.
What we build
Our first product is DD Backlink Strainer, a Chrome extension that checks expired and auction domains by their historical backlink donors. More tools on the same data are on the way.
Our data
We maintain our own historical link graph, with link observations since 2017, and public expired-domain records going back to 2006. We classify who places the links (editorial sites, platforms, directories, auto-generated pages, link spam), because that matters more than any single score. We complement the big SEO suites; we do not resell their data.
How we work
Good links are a promise to a reader: “what you are looking for is at this address”. When a domain changes hands, the honest thing is to keep that promise, or at least to say what happened. We try to work that way ourselves (see about this domain) and to help others tell real link history from manufactured one.
